Pant miraculously escaped early Friday when his luxury car fell asleep at the wheel on the Delhi-Deradun Expressway when it hit a road splitter and caught fire. The 25-year-old Pant, who was on his way to his hometown Rookie to surprise his mother, suffered head, back and foot injuries but remained stable after an accident in Manglaur in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar district at around 5:30 a.m. Pant is currently in a hospital in Deradun.

According to ESPN Cricinfo report, Rishabh Pant’s MRI results for brain and spinal cord returned to ‘normal’. He underwent plastic surgery for facial injuries, lacerations and abrasions. Pant has pain and swelling, so he will have an MRI scan of his ankle and knee on Saturday.

Doctors at Max Hospital in Deradun, where Pant is hospitalized, added that “the knee splint was abnormal for a suspected right knee ligament injury and right ankle ligament injury.” The hospital’s latest medical bulletin said Pant was “stable, conscious and oriented.”
