After a special soft-open period hosted by multiple owners Melco Resorts Entertainment on June 12, 2023, Europe’s first integrated resort, City of Dreams Mediterranean (CoDM), officially opened in Cyprus on July 10, 2023. Built in the southern island city of Limasol for more than 14.8 acres, it features a 14-story hotel with $5 million ($US60 million) each and a private hotel with 500 Saltrotirios suites.
Other facilities include designer shopping trails, famous artworks, sports facilities, outdoor amphitheaters, Cyprus’s largest resort pool complex, family adventure parks, spas and fitness facilities, and 8,000 sqm (86,000 sqft) indoor and outdoor event spaces. There are also eight restaurants featuring everything from the authentic Mediterranean to pan-Asian fusion, as well as bars and entertainment featuring famous DJs from the region and around the world.
The resort’s center, the 7,500-square-meter (80,000-square-foot) spacious and modern casino, has a variety of slot machines and table games, serving both casual players and skilled gamblers. C2 – Cyprus Casino, a temporary casino that opened on 28 June 2018, located in the former orphanides supermarket near zakaki junction. It has a floor area of 49,514 square feet and can offer two modern game consoles, table game consoles, restaurants and bars. The 13,993 sq ft gaming area has 242 slot machines, 33 table game consoles, and VIP game consoles.
The temporary casino will run until the opening of the City of Dreams Mediterranean, where all staff will reportedly move to the casino resort.
