The New York State Game Commission on Monday licensed three millions of casino projects approved by the state’s gaming facility location committee this time last year. The three venues will be located in the Catskills, Snectady and Finger Lake areas and are expected to open by 2018.
All five members of the gaming committee unanimously approved each expensive project, saying the developers met all the requirements they needed. Montreign Resort Casino in Thompson, Rivers Casino & Resort in Schectady’s Mohawk Harbor, and Lago Resort & Casino in Tyre are expected to create more than 3,200 permanent jobs and generate more than $265 million in tax revenue and additional licensing fees. 경마사이트프로
Montreig Resort Casino is actually the largest of the three approved projects and is part of a $1.3 billion complex on the site of the former Concord Resort just outside Monticello. Upon completion, the $630 million resort will feature an 18-story hotel and casino tower with an indoor water park, meeting space and a range of food and beverage options.
Empire Resort and EPR Property are working together on this project. Charles a. Degliomini, an executive at Empire Resort, told the media that they aim to attract domestic and international customers as well as the region. The resort is expected to be completed in early 2018.
Rivers Casino & Resort will be a $300 million hotel and casino complex covering 60 acres of Scheectady Waterfront. It will feature 66 game tables, 1,100 slot machines, and numerous accommodations, food and drinks, and entertainment options. The project is part of a larger redevelopment plan for the revival of the former industrial riverside area.
Greg Carlin, chief executive of Rush Street Gaming, a company sponsoring Rivers Casino & Resort, said on Monday he expects to start construction and bring jobs to the state capital area. Mr. Carlin expressed optimism that the resort would be the “successful economic engine of New York State.” The hotel and casino venues are expected to open sometime in 2017.
The $425 million Lago Resort & Casino will include a casino floor with 85 game tables and 2,000 slot machines, a 207-room hotel, spa, food and beverage options. Construction on the complex has already begun and developers Wilmorite and Peninsula Pacific said on Monday that the venue is expected to be completed and released during the first half of 2017.
Commenting on their expensive project, Wilmorite Chairman Thomas Wilmot said it would create 1,800 construction jobs over the next year and 1,800 permanent jobs once the resort is completed. The management described their plan as a local “game changer.”
Earlier this year, a fourth casino project was supported by the state gaming facility location committee. The existing Thioga Downs Lasino in Nichols will be expanded to include a 161-room hotel, more food and beverage options, and concert venues. In addition to the slot machines currently available, table games are also available.
