The fastest-growing new daily fantasy sports product will now be added to one of the nation’s most popular free-play sports prediction apps, Boom Entertainment announced today.
The NY-based sports and gaming company has signed a deal with Comcast to acquire NBC Sports Prediction, a game app that welcomes nearly 2 million Americans who have submitted tens of millions of forecasts over the past four years. “The NBC Sports Predictor has been an important part of Boom’s story since its launch,” said Stephen A. Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Boom Entertainment. “This was the first product we made that attracted millions of sports fans, and we are honored to be the product’s head coach and introduce a new way to play for sports fans.”
“Over the past few years, NBC Sports Forecasters have been a key asset to NBC Sports, using the product to increase viewer engagement. NBC Sports and Boom Entertainment will continue to find ways to work together on future gaming initiatives.”
The product, which will be rebranded as Predictor, will continue to offer free competitions popular in several sports. Several new game formats will also be released this fall.
Murphy said, “We start the first of several interactive game shows on the platform, starting with Coin Flip Live, a free game where viewers can get money just by guessing front or back.” “And so that fans can play for a higher stake in the state, we’re integrating Boom Fantasy, an award-winning real money fantasy sports platform, into our products.”
