The “2023 Asia Peace Student Go Competition,” a tournament to determine the best go players in Asia, will be held in Yangyang County, Gangwon Province, next month. The tournament, now in its ninth year, is hosted by the Yangyang County Go Association and organized by the Korea Youth Go Federation, the Yangyang County Sports Association, the Gangwon Go Association, and the Asian Go Federation. More than 500 students from major Asian countries including China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as well as the host country, Korea, will compete in the tournament.
The tournament will be held at the Yangyang Military Gymnasium in eight categories: middle and high school, elementary school students, high school students, low school students, dreamers, young stars, and the strongest kindergarten students. Participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis until the 13th. “We ask for the interest and participation of many people who love and support go,” said Lee Jang-seop, president of the 토토 Yangyang County Go Association.
