Hwang Sun-Hong-ho to form a ‘death group’ with Japan, China and the UAE at the U-23 Asian Cup

As a result of the draw for the group stage of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-23 Championship held in Doha, Qatar on the 23rd, Korea was drawn in Group B along with Japan, China, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

South Korea was at a disadvantage in seeding because it was included in the group with only three teams in the last Asian Cup qualifying round. Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Japan entered Port 1, starting with Qatar, the host country.

South Korea, which belongs to Port 2 along with Australia, Iraq and Vietnam, entered Group B, where Japan is located. After that, the UAE in Port 3 and China in Port 4 joined.

There is absolutely no easy group in the group stage with 16 teams, but Group B certainly deserves to be called the group of death. It is expected that the schedule will not be easy as there are South Korea and Japan, the UAE, a powerhouse in the Middle East, and China, which is not easy.

Group A included Qatar, Australia, Jordan, and Indonesia. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Thailand, and Tajikistan compete in Group C. Group D consists of Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kuwait, and Malaysia.

The competition will take place in Doha, Qatar in April next year. 안전놀이터
