The American Gaming Association has announced that Joe Maloney will join its executive team as senior vice president of strategic communications. Maloney will lead the association’s communications, research, marketing, and public relations campaigns, driving key priorities for AGA members.
“I’m excited for Joe to join AGA and lead the best-in-class communications team,” said AGA President and CEO Bill Miller. “Joe is an accomplished professional who has taken on significant public works challenges throughout his career. We will benefit from his enthusiasm and energy to get off to a flying start as a champion in the casino gaming industry, as well as the depth of his experience and tireless advocacy.”
Maloney joins AGA in January 2024, where he served as vice president, public information and strategic communications at Washington Commanders. In this role, he led the team’s outside engagement on a range of key policy and corporate initiatives, ensuring business, community, government, and civic leaders in the national capital region can work with organizations. 온라인카지노
“I’m honored to join AGA and its dedicated team at this pivotal moment in the gaming industry,” Maloney said. “The future holds great promise and I’m empowered by the opportunities and challenges to publicize the incredible benefits and economic impact of legitimate gaming across the country.”
Maloney successfully led Commanders’ communications and legislative advocacy on sports betting in Virginia and Maryland, resulting in industry-leading market access partnerships with FanDuel and Fanatics (Maryland). He also founded the Washington Commanders as the first NFL team to join AGA’s Have A Game Plan.® Bet Responsible. In addition to his sports betting portfolio, Maloney led the team’s external work on finding new stadiums, engaging elected, civil and media stakeholders across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. This resulted in bipartisan introduction to policy initiatives in the U.S. Congress, D.C. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Campus Revitalization Act, Annapolis, and Richmond.
Prior to Washington Commanders, Maloney worked as a partner at Locust Street Group (LSG), a full-service public relations agency based in Washington, D.C., leading the agency’s work on G2E and AGA’s Get to Know Gaming series.
