Really unknown PL referees… Kulusevski’s murder tackle ends with just a warning

Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-4 to Brighton in the 19th round of the Premier League (PL) of the 2023-24 season at 4:30 a.m. on the 29th (Korea time) at the American Express Stadium in Brighton, England. With the defeat, Tottenham ranked fifth in the league with 11 wins, three draws and five losses (36 points), and Brighton ranked eighth in the league with eight wins, six draws and five losses (30 points).

The game was a complete victory for Brighton. Jack Hinselwood scored the first goal in the 11th minute of the first half, and Dejan Kulusevski grabbed Danny Welback’s jersey in the penalty box in the 23rd minute of the first half, and a penalty kick (PK) was declared. João Pedro finished the game 2-0.

He also scored two more goals in the second half. Pervis Estupinyan’s fantastic mid-range shot in the 18th minute of the second half hit the net. In the 30th minute of the second half, he got another PK, and Pedro finished the game again, making the score 4-0.

Tottenham launched a counterattack. In the 36th minute of the second half, Kulusevski made a strong forward pressure and stole the ball from Luis Dunk. The ball was connected to Son Heung-min, and Son Heung-min sent a pass to the empty Alejo Bellis. Bellis finished it and recovered a goal. 안전놀이터 추천

There is a player who was not happy despite the score. It was Kulusevski. The moment Kulusevski stole Dunk’s ball, he felt great pain in his ankle due to Dunk’s murder tackle. Kulusevski couldn’t stand up after the score, and eventually, even a medical team was sent in.

However, the referee only issued a warning to Dunk and took no further action. The British Express also pointed out that Dunk was warned, but he should have received a red card because his stud was aimed at Kulusevski’s ankle.

The VAR room was quiet, too. As the tackle could have resulted in serious injury depending on the situation, it was deemed a “serious foul” and the red card had to be checked. However, the VAR room did not send any signal.

For Tottenham, it is unfair. In November’s showdown with Chelsea, Christian Romero was sent a direct red card for a tackle on Enzo Fernandez’s ankle. In a match against Nottingham Forest on the 16th, Yves Bissouma was sent off for a tackle with Ryan Yates’ knee. However, Dunk’s foul was only a warning and the situation ended.
