The first trans-ocean plane carrying tourists in nearly 20 months landed in Las Vegas, the same day the U.S. reopened its borders to fully vaccinated international travelers. Resorts in and around the Las Vegas strip celebrated the moment by welcoming international visitors with multilingual marquee messages.
“I’m excited to welcome back foreign visitors to our great state and wonderful Las Vegas. We know you missed the trip as much as you missed welcoming you. And I’m excited that Las Vegas was at the top of your list,” said Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak. “Las Vegas is constantly evolving. Whether it’s your first visit or your 50th, you’ll always find something new and interesting to experience. Welcome to Las Vegas and enjoy your visit.”
Las Vegas welcomed 5.7 million international visitors in 2019, a direct economic impact of $4.8 billion. Prior to the pandemic, Las Vegas received direct flights from 31 cities in 12 countries. 온라인경마
“This is a watershed moment for Las Vegas when international borders open and we welcome back international visitors to our destination,” said Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “In addition to being a global leisure destination, our major trade shows and conventions attract large international delegations, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead.”
